Segmented woodturning, also called polychromatic woodturning, is the art of using different types of wood to
create features and color differences that can be dramatic, or
subtle. From functional vessels, to ornate pieces of
art, they represent a vast array of possibilities.
My segmented vessels include a wide variety of features and
details. Some vessels are made from a single type of wood, with
no embellishment at all. Others include features with
contrasting wood and geometric patterns.
